FRESSEN FUNDRAISER DINNER AND NEW COFFEE BLEND LAUNCH DAY 1

50% of dinner profits and 15% of Coffee blend sales will go to Bradley Angle nonprofit

Portland, Oregon, March 2024—On May 18 th and 19 th Fressen Artisan Bakery will introduce its
new Viennese-style coffee blend with a celebration at its bakery and restaurant from 5 pm to 9
pm.
50% of dinner profits and 15% of bagged Coffee sales will go to the Bradley Angle, a nonprofit
that helps survivors of domestic violence.
The new blend was inspired by the coffee served at Vienna’s famous coffee houses. Fressen
owner Edgar Loesch visited these cafes in 2023 and returned to Portland determined to create
a similar blend to offer at his bakery and café.
Loesch brought back a sample of the famous Jelinek coffee-house blend and approached
coffee-roaster Marko (Mark) Johnson, owner of Mudd Works Roastery, 6922 NE Glisan Street,
Portland, Oregon, to create a similar blend.
Johnson, who has been roasting coffee for 35 years, experimented with specialty grade coffees
from Central and South America until he created a rich, medium blend with chocolate and
hazelnut tones. The new Kaffee Haus Mélange, will soon be available exclusively at Fressen in
bags and as brews. It will be the official coffee used for house coffee and expresso drinks.
The event will feature live music by local musician Ed Haynes. A special German food will be on
the menu. There will be a raffle of items from local businesses with the proceeds going to
Bradley Angle
